This podcast brings a unique perspective: Dr. R, who holds a PhD in psychology and has extensive expertise in social psychology, psychology and law, and the psychology of violence, teams up with Ashley, whose would-make-a-great-private-investigator instincts add a sharp edge. Years before her death, Rachel Hansen rode her horse Dash through the greenbelts of Gilbert carrying a sign that read: “Silence is Betrayal.” On June 4, 2022, Rachel was killed. Four years later, her family is still searching for answers.
On the four-year anniversary of Rachel’s death, her parents Kim and Todd Hansen will be holding a press conference, along with private investigator Justin Yentes, that was never held in the immediate aftermath of her murder. We created Reconsidered Unsolved because Rachel deserved to be remembered and her loved ones deserve answers.
Our goal has always been simple: keep Rachel’s story alive in the hopes that someone remembers something, says something, or finally comes forward. We will be in attendance at the press conference June 4 10:30 AM PST, will be making a statement and will be live-streaming the press conference on our YouTube channel — a platform we’re finally beginning to use — and we would be incredibly grateful if you would subscribe, join us live, and continue helping us keep Rachel’s story visible.

Hi everyone, welcome back. We wanted to take a few minutes to talk about an important event coming up and why it matters so much. On June 4th, the four-year anniversary of Rachel Hansen's murder, Rachel's parents Kim and Todd Hansen, will be holding a press conference to bring attention back to Rachel's case and to remind the public that her family is still waiting for answers. Emily and I will be there alongside Rachel's family with private investigator Justin Yentis, and we hope many of you will join us either in person or by watching the live stream on our YouTube, which is linked in the show notes. When a case remains unsolved for years, it's easy for people to assume that there are no leads left to pursue or that nothing can change, but that's simply not true. In so many cases, the missing piece isn't a lack of evidence, it's a person. It's someone who saw something, heard something, remembers something, or knows something that they haven't yet shared. The reality is that someone out there may hold information that could help investigators finally understand what happened to Rachel. The purpose of this press conference is not just to look back on the last four years, but to move the case forward. It's to put Rachel's name back into public conversation, to reach people who may not have heard her story before, and to remind anyone carrying information that there's time to come forward. As we've learned while researching and producing Reconsidered Unsolved, one of the most powerful tools in an investigation is public awareness. Sometimes all it takes is the right person hearing the right detail at the right time. That's also why sharing matters. Every person who listens, every person who watches, every person who shares Rachel's story expands the circle of people who know her name and know her case. The larger that circle becomes, the greater the chance that the person with the missing piece of information hears about it. Rachel was only 19 years old. She was deeply loved by her family. She had dreams, plans, and a future. Her life mattered and her story deserves answers. Most importantly, her family deserves answers. No parent should have to spend four years wondering what happened to their child. No family should have to keep asking the same questions year after year without resolution. So if you have followed Rachel's story, we hope you'll join us. If you're new to the case, we hope you'll take a few minutes to learn about Rachel and share her story. And if you're someone who knows something, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, we encourage you to contact Law Enforcement. Those contacts are also in the show notes. Someone knows something, someone remembers something, and one conversation or one act of courage could make all the difference. Thank you for helping us keep Rachel's story alive and for standing with the Hansen family as they continue their search for justice. We hope you'll join us on June 4th on our YouTube channel, linked in the show notes and found at the Creepy Book Club.
